John, along with a team of specialist re-makers, went to work to create and transform much-loved and precious yet un-used treasures into purposeful, unique pieces. When?
The programme was filmed during the Covid-19 pandemic in November 2020 and aired on Monday 28th March for a 4 week series showing Monday- Friday at 6:30pm. It is also available on BBC iPlayer.
“It was an experience that stretched my creative abilities in drawing, welding, wood-working, and sewing even though welding is my chosen profession! It was surreal to get behind a sewing machine again stimulating lots of early childhood memories. The environment with other re-makers was warm and friendly and it was a privilege to work alongside them – I was in awe of their talents and abilities as they were mine! It was inspiring to work alongside Sabrina and I am excited for her journey to continue unfolding as a fresh and fantastic TV presenter…I have absolutely got my fingers crossed for series 2!”
